Context
A QR code on a terminal or receipt has to open the right thing: the app if it's installed, the store if it isn't, the web flow if neither applies. That decision has to happen in the moment between scan and tap, across iOS, Android and desktop browsers, each with different deep-link behaviour.
Constraints
- One week.
- Deep-link behaviour differs by OS, browser and whether the app is installed — and the browser won't tell you reliably.
- Has to be fast: it sits between a customer and a payment.
